“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Descends on Tribeca in One Week

We've waited two long years to finally hear those two magic words...."Hit it!"

For the first time in nearly two years, press influencers and fans lucky enough to score a ticket will beam back aboard the Enterprise with Captain Pike and the gang for a screening of “Hegemony, Pt. 2.” And it’s all happening at the historic Tribeca Film Festival in downtown Manhattan.

This year marks the 24th installment of the film festival, and it also marks the first time that Star Trek has been featured. During a press roundtable welcoming outlets and the media to this year’s festival, senior film and television programmer Liza Domnitz mentioned that since this is the first time Trek has been on the schedule, “fans on the programming team who are trekkies are really excited about it.”

And there’s a lot to be excited about with Strange New Worlds hitting Tribeca this year. Cast members Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, Babs Olusanmokun, Carol Kane, Cillian O’Sullivan and executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Aaron Baiers will all be in attendance, hitting the red carpet before the season three premiere screening, which a Q&A panel will then follow.

Why Star Trek? Why this year? When I asked Liza, she didn’t hold back with her excitement.

“Trek is such an iconic series and brand. So much respect. We’re quite excited and psyched about the opportunity.”

Trekkies waiting to see the two-episode premiere of Strange New Worlds on Paramount Plus will have to wait just a little bit longer, with the third season premiering on Thursday, July 17th! That doesn’t mean Paramount isn’t ramping up the hype, though (like we needed it after two years….).

Brand New Key Art & Episode Titles Released

It was a busy week on the news front. The folks at Paramount released all ten episode titles for Strange New Worlds season three, and some of them are out there. See for yourself!

• Episode 1: “Hegemony, Part II”

• Episode 2: “Wedding Bell Blues” (Ohhh, we’re getting a wedding!)

• Episode 3: “Shuttle to Kenfori” (Soooo TOS)

• Episode 4: “A Space Adventure Hour”

• Episode 5: “Through the Lens of Time”

• Episode 6: “The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail” (Time travel??)

• Episode 7: “What Is Starfleet?” (To be or not to be?)

• Episode 8: “Four-and-a-Half Vulcans” (GLARE)

• Episode 9: “Terrarium”
  

• Episode 10: “New Life and New Civilizations”
