Unlocking the Cage

In February 1965, Gene Roddenberry tested the original Star Trek pilot, "The Cage," for NBC. The network ultimately would pass on "The Cage" and Captain Pike, but would order a new Pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before." The rest is history.
