“Strange New Worlds” Season 3 Trailer Warps In and It’s Glorious
Clear your calendars, charge your PADDs, and brace for impact.
Today we got the official trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3, and it is packed. As if that wasn’t enough to send fandoms into a full-blown warp core breach, Paramount+ also dropped 21 brand-new images from the upcoming season.
This trailer is the latest piece building up that hype for season three the past month and a half, all building toward the season premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next Saturday, June 14. And we’re not done yet: the two-episode streaming premiere hits Thursday, July 17. That’s less than six weeks away. Are you screaming internally? Because I am.
The Trailer: Epic. Emotional. Electric.
Opening with sweeping visuals and that signature cinematic sheen, the trailer sets the tone right out of spacedock. We catch glimpses of a deeply conflicted Spock (Ethan Peck), a confident and commanding Pike (Anson Mount), and a beautifully haunted Number One (Rebecca Romijn). There are new planets, surprise alien species, emotional gut-punches, and moments of levity, all hallmarks of what SNW does best. (And what about that music?!)
And yes, La’an (Christina Chong) looks like she’s about to carry this season emotionally on her back again, while Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) and Ortegas (Melissa Navia) get more screen time and what appears to be major narrative arcs. There's action. There’s weirdness. There’s a possible time loop? And maybe...a wedding? If the title "Wedding Bell Blues" is any clue, we are in for an emotional rollercoaster. (Spoiler alert: I’m riding in the front row and have tissues)
The Image Drop
The 21 new images released today are a feast. From quiet character moments (Spock and Chapel having a look) to dynamic duos like Scotty and Pelia. But don't take it from me: have a look at them yourself!

Tribeca Awaits: A Federation-Sized Premiere
As I mentioned in my piece this morning, SNW Season 3 will premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on June 14, making it the first Star Trek show to launch at the iconic NYC fest. With series stars like Mount, Peck, and more slated to appear alongside showrunners Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman, it’s going to be a very special moment for Trek.
This kind of festival presence speaks volumes about the show’s quality, confidence, and connection to mainstream storytelling.
Two-Episode Drop? Yes, Please.
On Thursday, July 17, the first two episodes, "Hegemony, Part II" and "Wedding Bell Blues,"will hit Paramount+. That’s right, we’re getting answers to last season’s cliffhanger and a whole new storyline in one night.
With weekly episodes after that, we’re looking at a summer of Trek that ends in a finale on September 11, meaning your Thursdays are booked from now until fall.
Final Thoughts: Let’s Boldly Go
Between today’s drop, next weekend’s Tribeca premiere, and the July 17 streaming debut, Strange New Worlds Season 3 is shaping up to be the event of the Trek calendar. The tone is playful, the stakes are high, and the crew looks ready to navigate new emotional galaxies.
So: hydrate. Rewatch Season 2 (and you know what, might as well rewatch season 1 as well). Stay tuned to SNP for all of your Tribeca coverage. And get ready for more Spock eyebrows, Ortegas one-liners, and heartbreak via Chapel (if that's your thing, no judgment here.)
